Questions

Why does my photo look right on my phone but sideways elsewhere?

Phones often store a “turn this” note instead of turning the pixels. We apply that note first, then your rotation, so the saved photo looks right everywhere.

What happens to the corners when I rotate by 15°?

The picture grows to fit the whole photo. The empty corners are transparent in PNG and WebP, and white in JPG.

Does rotating reduce quality?

Turning by 90° or 180° keeps every pixel. Other angles smooth the image slightly, like any photo editor.
